This theme was based on a challenge with my friends. The theme we had to work with was ‘playing with fire’. I had other ideas that weren’t so literal but at the last minute, I decided to approach the topic literally. But with a little twist. As a child, I played with candles a lot and I used to imagine that I could control the flames. so in this painting, I decided to capture a young girl who is bored from late night reading and decides to ‘play’ with the flames of the burning candle. she bends the fire into a dancing female.
