The artwork is a digital painting and was inspired by the lovely patterns drawn by the ancient Igbo Women (Uli Art). The artwork sought to bring back the fading culture of facial decoration done by the early creative women on how they beautify themselves before the modern day make-up. I decided to go with blue colour for the eyes because of what the colour connotes in the art context – Peace, Harmony, Loyalty which are some of the distinguished characteristics of an African Woman.
