Taiwo was born in Lagos State in the early seventies. He had his primary and secondary school education in Lagos. Taiwo went on to study at the Lagos State Polytechnic where he obtained his Ordinary National Diploma [O.N.D], and subsequently a Higher National Diploma [H.N.D] in painting from the prestigious Yaba College of Technology, Lagos in 1999. During his school days, he won several awards and prizes, becoming the best student in life drawing, best student in painting and the first award winner for excellence from Academic Press Nigeria PLC, in 1996 for the school of art Lagos State Polytechnic.

His said about art and painting, “Painting is beyond the barriers and classification of school of thought…. My paintings are uniquely touched, fluid and flexible, which cannot be ignored.  The illustration power is a recapture of a fading landmark and culture of draftsmanship in visual art…. conceptual art is being celebrated at the expense of realistic and naturalistic tendencies that dwell more on landscapes, figurative and experimental glorification. This is an aspect of being perfected in my style of work”.

Taiwo has to his credit, an exhaustive list of exhibitions within and outside Nigeria. He has also done numerous commissioned works, which are both in private homes, corporate offices, governmental agencies and overseas. He is a founding member of Defactori art studio, member of the Society of Nigerian artists (SNA), a full time practicing studio artist till date and once an art tutor.
