Abdullah Adewumi Sulaiman studied Fine and Applied Art at the College of Education, Ilorin and during the process of obtaining his National Certificate in Education (NCE), he had a short training at the Universal Art Studios, Onikan, Lagos under the tutelage of some of Nigeria’s contemporary artists likes of Abiodun Olakun, late Ayodeji Shingle, late Baba Bisi Fakeye among others. Sulaiman started his journey into art at the age of 9. He got his artistic inspiration from his dad who is also very creative.
The encounter with many great artists in Nigeria inspired his variety of styles. On completing his NCE programme, Sulaiman furthered his education in other disciplines but kept on practising art. His postgraduate programme in the United Kingdom gave him the opportunity of learning first hand from some of the renowned artists in Europe where he was also able to adopt styles of paintings and drawings that meet world best practices.
On his return home to Nigeria, Sulaiman took up a lecturing job but never stopped his art practice. Some of his works (paintings, drawings and other media) hang on the walls of private collectors in Nigeria, UK and US.
