The painting is a playful rendition of a flutist and a subjective interpretation of the rhythm and sound of the instrument. Umeh’s painting is a combination of abstraction and surrealism, as the fairy subject seems to float from one end of the painting to the other in some kind of transportation that leads the flutist, the hearer (however invisible) and the viewer in dynamic and rhythmic motions of magical hypnotic powers.
