People move from one location to another in search of fulfillment in various spheres and thus create an itinerant propensity. The painting shows the backs of a group of women returning to their homes after the day’s toil. Umeh depicts a rural landscape with a rustic outlook devoid of the sophistication of an organized community. His use of warm colours gives a sense of “Hope” for tomorrow as the women prepare once again to trace (outbound) and re-trace (inbound) their paths.
