With earthy colours, Umeh explores the popular “Gwoje” musical instrument used by musicians in northern Nigeria. There is no facial identity ascribed to the player presumably to show the universality in the use of the instrument or its popularity in northern Nigeria.  The painting is a hybrid  combination of abstraction and impressionism.
