Idongesit Smart Usanga is the crucial eye behind the lens at IMAGE FACULTY. He makes pictures like an act that has been perfected over a millennium. He is the man who changed the face of photography in Akwa Ibom State. He began studying photography on his own before 2010 and sponsored himself to Digital Academy (The Film School) Mumbai, India in the same year. He has pursued his passion for photography by travelling around West Africa and parts of The UAE to shoot concerts, weddings and fashion events for various celebrities, designers and magazines.

Usanga is now settled in Lagos, Nigeria with focus on a career in fashion, portrait and art photography and superintends over Image Faculty, the photography outfit he set up shortly before traveling to India as a self-styled “Dean”. The list of brands he has worked for includes Indian Super Model Nikki Visharam (MTV Mumbai), Vine Creative (London), Bnkabilty (London), Classic Makeup USA (Nigeria), Blot Beauty Cosmetics (Nigeria), African Women in Leadership Organisation (Nigeria).

He has been honoured as an ambassador in his State (Akwa Ibom) and also has his photography work printed on the Guinness Book of Records 2015 edition and various other local tabloids and magazines. Usanga has leveraged on his photographic skills to set up other viable businesses and celebrity propositions. His eclectic career encompassing fashion, portraiture, commercial D&P, advertising, wedding and industrial works reflects his inquisitive mind and boundless curiosity. His unique style and mastery of aesthetics and digital graphic art have been reinvented in his photo projects to create understanding, dynamics and result oriented photography for his clients. While working on becoming a daring creative photographer, Usanga is also transferring his knowledge to the upcoming photographers and enthusiasts.

He continues to make pictures walk, talk, jump and dance.
