Damola Adepoju was born on 23 September 1975 in Lagos.  He enrolled at the Institute of Textile Technology, Art and Design graduating with a diploma in Art (1998). He later proceeded to Lagos State Polytechnic where he received an OND (2006) and HND in (2011).  He is an established member of the Society of Nigerian Artists and a founding member of the Defactori Art studio.

In 2009 he won the Yusuf Grillo Price for painting with his work figures, which was well received by the critics. He has exhibited in several expos at home and overseas including Vision of Africa, International Cultural Centre, Caisa Helsinki Finland (1998); Discovery, Mobil Hall, Muson Centre Lagos (2000); Woman and War, Goethe Institut Nigeria (2001); Fusion, National Museum Lagos (2003); Our Experience, Maison de France (2004); Dance of The Mask, Degenham, United Kingdom (2004); Passage of Time, Pendulum Gallery, Lagos (2006); Splashes Terra Kulture, Lagos (2009); the Plien Air class (2011) October Rain, National Museum, Lagos (2012); Beyond Boundaries Nubuke Foundation, Accra Ghana (2013); Timeless Terra Kulture, Lagos (2014). And also in the same year he coordinated exhibitions at the Defactori art group exhibitions in 2014.

His works are in several collections across the country including the Eko Le Meridian Hotel Lagos, Fidelity Bank Lagos, Nicon Hilton Hotel Abuja, Guaranty Trust Bank Nigeria & United Kingdom, Lagos State Governors Office, Accenture Lagos and others.
