POSTED IN Art, Culture, Drawn art
By Alithnayn Abdulkareem

Between the 1st and 11th of November 2017, two artists, William Ifeanyi Moore and Mickey Moore, aka Akasoluonye will be hard at work developing a series, which will culminate in an exhibition of works by themselves, and through the collaborative process. The residency fuses visual art with written forms of art and is sponsored by the revolving arts incubator in Silverbird Galleria.

According to one of the participating artists, the theme for the residency looks at art expression over a generation. It will feature works of visual art like oil on canvas, photography and poetry. Talking to William Moore, he has expressed that the resulting works from this exhibition will be nothing like the contemporary art scene in Lagos has ever seen. He delves further into the practice, explaining that the work will be focused on “translating beauty in a way that makes sense to myself and to the viewer who is not involved with the arts.”  According to him, this project has been in conception since earlier this year, and the residence is an excellent way to present it to the Lagos scene.
