Gwoje Rythms 2

With earthy colours, Umeh explores the popular “Gwoje” musical instrument used by musicians in northern Nigeria. Umeh makes a detour in painting  with focus on the two players strumming their instrument.  The duality here suggests the corporation needed to achieve the unique sound and rhythm characteristic of the “Gwoje”.
