Even with a seemly boisterous atmosphere akin to spaces like the markets, the pair takes an isolated position of solitude and despair. This is suggestive of their position in the society as the leadership often neglects the poor and the needy, leaving them at the mercy of what the “day brings or offers” as they struggle to fend for themselves.  The monochrome shade gives a timeless tonal impression and a dramatic atmosphere.
