Using a unique approach, Adekusibe portrays a northern palace guard on a horseback clutching a spear.  A quasi-minimal painting, with simple traditional inscriptions to connote various meanings related to the famous northern Nigerian architectural forms, a narrative to give an insight into the people’s daily activities and how the community is governed. Buildings in the north and the great Kano wall as seen in the painting are important landmarks in Nigeria.
