Afebuame’s painting is a collage and a reflection of a northern Nigeria environment. Livestock, a portion of the city gate in view and a Fulani woman with a calabash of “fura” on her head – Fura is a locally fermented beverage made from cow milk. Afebume places all these elements together as a reportage in painting to give an insight into the people’s way of living – their culture and tradition.
