This painting depicts a riverine community in Lagos known as “Oko Baba” in Makoko.  This community is known for their fishing and lumbering activities.  Apooyin masterfully creates an illusion of moving waters and ripples with a combination white, grey and shades of black as molecular colouring agents to produce this effect.  He also questions the state of the environment, the inhabitants living conditions and the architectural form of the landscape.
