“Mother’s are meant to be respected as per carrying the pregnancy for 9 months and the pain of giving birth”. This particular Artwork was inspired by the life of I and my Mum, which brought about the title “Maternal Love”. Maternal love is said to be known as having the qualities of a befitting mother which I have found in my own mother, which as made me dedicated this work to her. Maternal love can also be parental nurturing, care, guidance, protection, tenderness, kindness, affection and love from mother towards her child. As Yoruba will say “NO MOTHER IN HER RIGHT SENSES WILL NOT RESPOND TO THE EMERGENCY CRY OF HER CHILD” RUMI once said that we are born of love and love is our mother. Samuel Taylor also said, “The love of a mother is the veil of a softer light between the earth and the heavenly father”. So I have created this artwork to encourage our mothers to keep showing love to their children. Above all, I thank God for the success of my work and for my befitting mother.
