Morenike Olusanya was born on the 3rd of February, 1995 (22 years old) in Lagos and has lived there all her life. She graduated from the University of Lagos in January, 2017 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Arts (Specialized in Visual Arts). She currently works as a graphic designer and a freelance digital and traditional artist. She is a visual artist and her favourite mode of expression is digital art.
She got introduced to digital art during her industrial attachment year (Year 3 in university) by her supervisor, Victor Orji. The agency was an advertising agency so she was meant to learn graphic design as related to branding. He noticed that after every graphic design assignment, she would pick up a pencil/biro and plain sheet of paper and sketch random work on it
One day he showed her his Intuos tab and told her to start to learn how to use it and that was how her journey as a digital artist began. He would let her do branding designs from Monday to Thursday and digital art on Friday. Her art can be expressionist, realist, surrealist or abstract, depending on her inspiration at the particular period of time when the idea springs up. Her art is inspired by emotions, environment, one-minute experiences or occurrences and mostly, Africanism.
She has been featured in a couple of blogs which include ForCreativeGirls.com, Farabale Africa.com, KumaNation.com, PenAStory.com to mention a few.
