SHADOWBOXER

Shadow Boxer is an ongoing body of work documenting Hafis Geyanje (bite someone) Ologunro. A boxer who despite his dedication and will to represent Nigeria in the world of boxing, could not get a spot due to long absence of grassroots boxing development in Nigeria, but rather than quitting, he channelled his love and passion for the sport by boxing his dream into the heart of young and aspiring boxers, who nurtures same ambition like him or to keep them off the street of Epetedo area of Lagos Island.

Despite lack of funds, he manages his HARD PUNCH BOXING CLUB with the little he earns as a Welder.

This documentary was inspired by a random picture of him taken during one of his training sessions, was posted on Instagram via @kayode_oluwa and a user @bikifada who is also a boxer.

He may not have been able to achieve his dream, but he is keeping it alive in upcoming boxers hence the title of the body of work SHADOWBOXER.
