A fruit seller is seen bargaining with two women in this painting. Umeh returns, yet with another impression of the market scene.  The market is an important location or convergent point in the lives people in the local communities as well as in the cities where foodstuff and wares can be purchased and sold. It also represents the link between farmers in the rural areas where most of the products are grown and the city people who buy them in exchange through an organized system of commercial dealings. Notable in this painting is the layout of the stalls and the way the food items are presented to the buyers, which is common in market environment in Nigeria.
