Afebuame explores a village from an aerial perspective.  The patches of paint to depict the rooftops give a sense of texture to the piece.  Working with palette knife brings a different dimension and feel to the canvas as seen in this painting.  The blocks of paint are akin to pixels in a photograph as you zoom in to explore the activities on ground as the inhabitants engage in convivial interaction. This community is called Ile Alaa ya (a place of monkeys) in Ogbomosho – a town in western Nigeria. The aerial view approach gives a detailed perspective of the settlement even to the background with palm trees lined up border lines.
