Umeh incorporates some texture into this painting as he focuses on the women folk and their value in the society.  His central theme hinges on the role women play as homemakers.  Three women with trays on their heads stand side-by-side waiting, expectantly for their customers.  Umeh portrays their individuality/personality by inserting them in between the curtains.  Women, even in contemporary times engage in various trades and ventures to maintain or support themselves and their families.
