The painting shows the architectural juxtaposition of both colonial (old) – a symbol of the Brazilian heritage and modern houses in the Isale Eko community of Lagos Island. Another interesting element here is the petty trader’s stall with a yellow umbrella and foodstuff just right by the road. This is a common sight in many street corners in Lagos as households try to make brisk businesses to support their families.  A woman is also seen with an umbrella right in the middle of the road suggesting a rainy and wet day.  Abimbola did not miss out the very popular “danfo bus” at the corner, a quartet standing by and headlamps on.
