Victor Asowata was born on the 22nd of November. He finished with upper credit in general art at the Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi Edo state (1992) and another upper credit- excellent division, in painting from the Yaba College of Technology, Yaba Lagos (1996). Victor is a prolific multimedia and experimental artist with about two decades of consistent visual and communication art practice. He is a painter, collage artist, digital artist, cartoonist and illustrator. He has shown his works several group exhibitions at home and abroad.
Victor won theYusuf Grillo award for the most deserving student (Best overall) in 1996 during his academic sojourn at the school of art design and printing technology- Yaba College of technology, Yaba Lagos. He also won the Rector award for the Best Painting student. His other awards include the Nigeria cards award for the best life-drawing student, Winner Muson National painting competition, and DAME award for the best editorial cartoonist of the year 2005.
He has worked as a Cartoonist illustrator at the Commet newspapers (1999), Principal cartoonist at the Daily independent newspapers (2000), Cartoon editor Compass newspapers (2006), Chief cartoonist Newswatch Newspapers (2012), Cartoon editor The Union newspapers (2013), Concept Vericire Technologies animation projects (2016) and Creative consultant Zenith economic quarterly Zenith bank plc.
